Bike Mounted Journey Tracker

In my Freshman year at UC Davis, sitting in the dorm, I decided to take part in the NXP Rapid Prototype challenge sponsored by NXP Semiconductors on Hackster.io (think hardware Github). I had just been previously introduced to the website, in an event hosted by Texas Instruments. Long story short I ended up winning a Fitbit from that contest which I sold for $140 on Facebook.

By the way here is my story/pitch for the project:

UC Davis. The largest campus in the University of California system. Here, we have flat roads, and the bicycle is a way of life. Biking from class to class, my classmates and I ask, “Which road is shortest?”, “Which road is least bumpy?” With Internet of Things, we now know. We just need a sensor on our bike and a smartphone in hand.
